Welcome to the community of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Denver, Colorado. We are located and active at 2300 S. Patton Ct. in the Harvey Park neighborhood in southwest Denver between Federal and Sheridan two blocks south of Evans (at Iliff Ave.) on South Patton Court.

We invite you and your family to worship with us on Sunday morning at 9:00 am. At Christ the King you will find wonderful music, relevant messages, learning for all ages, outreach to our community, and the warmth of a family community.

Annual Meeting

Christ the King’s Annual Meeting will be held following worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 28. We will be reviewing and celebrating CTK’s transformation in 2017, reviewing the key strategic steps for 2018, and examining the proposed mission spend plan for 2018. Please plan to attend.

 

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday Worship, February 14, will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Ashes will be distributed at this service.

Lenten Lunch Church

Lenten Lunch Church will be held on Wednesdays in Lent, February 21 & 28, and March 7, 14 and 28 at noon in the fellowship hall. Join us for a simple soup lunch and Lenten worship service. Rather than separate out lunch and worship, we will be eating and worshiping together, gathered around our lunch tables and sharing in reflective conversation, song, prayer and communion. Holden Evening Prayer (yes, sung at noon) will serve as our liturgy at each service. We will conclude by 12:50pm for those with work or busy schedules. If you would like to help provide soup, please sign-up in the fellowship hall or call the CTK office at 303-935-4669.

Prime Timers
Senior Fellowship

Prime Timers will meet for lunch on Tuesday, February 13, at 12 noon at IHOP Belmar, Wadsworth Blvd. and Alameda Ave. Please make reservations to the church office at 303-935-4669.

On March 13, we will meet at noon at the Olive Garden, 5380 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Littleton, near S.W. Plaza.

 

Stewardship Opportunities

“Souper Bowl” Sunday, February 4

We are collecting canned soup for Community Ministry for “Souper Bowl” Sunday, February 4. Our goal is 200 cans. Check our scoreboard to see how we are doing. Place your cans on the collection table outside of Fellowship Hall.

Growing Home Dinner

Christ the King will again sponsor a dinner meal at the Lutheran Center, U.S. 36 & Pecos for three to four homeless families.  We will prepare dinner to be served at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20. If you can help prepare dinner or help serve, please call the church office at 303-935-4669.

 

Advance Care Planning Workshop

Please join Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains on Sunday, February 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall to learn the importance of Advance Care Planning and Advance Directives. Natalie DeVille, an Aging Life Care Manager, will help clarify the steps in advance care planning including assessing your values, understanding how to choose a medical power of attorney, and talking with your loved ones about your wishes. She will also explain the different advance directive forms specific to Colorado, such as Living Will and Medical Power of Attorney, and discuss when and how these documents are used.

Sunday Adult Class

Beginning on Sunday, February 11, and running through Sunday, March 18, Pastoral Leader Joel will facilitate a Lenten Study on Luther’s Small Catechism. We will meet in the library from 10:30-11:30 a.m. We will be using the Augsburg Fortress Reformation Study Edition to guide our study. Please call the church office at 303-935-4669 by January 22 to order a copy.

Worship

Sunday Mornings

Sunday Morning worship is held at 9:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary. A children’s bulletin, busy bags, and toys are available for your children during worship at the entrance to Fellowship Hall. An unstaffed nursery is available in the church basement.

Coffee Fellowship
