Visit Christ The King
Just say hi or stay to worship and grow in faith with us
9:00am Worship Service in English
10:30am Faith Formation
We at Christ the King value genuine community, which translates to being fully honest about what to expect when you visit us in worship.
We worship at 9:00am on Sunday mornings in our sanctuary. When you arrive you will find our sanctuary to be beautiful but older, a bit worn around the edges. You will be welcomed warmly by our greeters and ushers, and receive a worship bulletin which has all of the liturgy, prayers and music you will need for the whole service.
Our Sunday morning community tends be made up of older, white, English speaking families and individuals. Although many of our worshipers will be older than 65, you will find them to have accepting and loving hearts who desire to love, live and give as disciples of Jesus, just like the many families with younger children who also attend worship with us.
It’s fairly common to have a number of kids under the age of ten, participating in our worship life. We have a kids table in the rear of the sanctuary where kids can color, draw, move and be themselves during the worship service. They are also welcome to sit and play in their pews, and spend time with Pastor Joel during the children’s message in the beginning of the worship service.
We craft our liturgies each week to connect our prayer language with our daily lives. Our songs are a mixture of traditional hymns and newer music, which strives to give voice to God’s presence in our deep joys and struggles.
We center our worship around word and sacrament. We will hear scripture and preaching which connects the good news of God with the realities of our families, communities and world. We remember God’s unconditional love in the waters of our baptism, and we gather around the communion table to celebrate God’s vision of oneness with all people and God’s whole creation.
Our community will not be perfect, as we do not value perfectionism.
But as imperfect people and an imperfect community, we gather to encounter God’s life and love expressed through the worship experience of church, so that we can live out God’s vision of hope and purpose for all, in our daily lives, in our homes, workplaces, schools and communities. We hope you will come and worship with us!

7:30PM BILINGUAL PRAYER SERVICE IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH
Wednesday evenings are all about how God is creating genuine community as the church. Our congregation is situated in a bilingual neighborhood, and our gatherings on Wednesdays reflect that identity. As we gather for a community meal at 6:00pm, it is common to hear both Spanish and English spoken across the tables. You are welcome to join us for a meal any Wednesday at 6:00pm
At 6:30pm, we pray together and give thanks for the food we’ve eaten, and then break up into faith formation classes which last for one hour until 7:30pm.
At 7:30pm we have a 30 minute bilingual prayer service in Spanish and English, which includes music, scripture, prayers, and communion. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in communion.
